Town Council offices
The Town Council offices in winter

The Town Council has been working to deliver an extra day to the annual Switch-On event held in St. Anne’s Square.  Due to the unprecedented demand along with feedback from businesses and residents, the Council is pleased to announce that a Festive Celebration will now take place on Saturday 30 November, in addition to the formal Switch On event on Friday 29 November 2019.

On the Saturday 30 November 2019, the Town Council will be funding a free programme of entertainment supporting local businesses from 12noon until 5 pm.

The public will be notified of the performers through the usual media and social media channels in the coming days. The Town Council welcomes all the community to join the festivities on Friday 29 November 2019 in St. Anne’s Square from 4pm-6pm to watch the festive lights come on in time for Christmas and Saturday 30 November 2019, 12 noon to 5pm for an additional celebration day, that will include local acts and groups to deliver the Christmas spirit. This does mean of course that the East Car-Park will remain closed for parking use for an extra day.

The details of the Friday Christmas Lights Switch-On remain the same, with an extended opportunity to your business to extend your trading hours for shoppers. Also, regarding the addition of the Saturday Festive Celebration, there is an offer extended to businesses for a market stall pitch within the East Car Park (from Santander to Number Fifteen public house) at no charge to businesses residing in the Parish of St. Anne’s. Stall pitches for non-local is £30 for the day for a 3m x 3m pitch. Mark Daniels of The Little Stage Company will remain to set up from the Friday evening to deliver an extra day to help encourage shoppers and families to visit our town.

If anyone is interested in a stall pitch, they should contact info@stannesonthesea-tc.gov.uk

If anyone is interested in performing, they should contact hello@thelittlestage.company
