Christmas Lights Switch on

November 26 @ 4:00 pm 5:30 pm

A wonderful event for the whole family! Come along and join us as we light up the town with a little help from Santa and his friends…

St. Anne’s on the Sea Town Council is delighted, once again, to deliver the St. Anne’s Christmas Lights Switch On for 2022.

The Switch On of the Christmas Lights will take place in St. Anne’s on the Sea Town Centre at 5.30pm Saturday 26th November 2022.

Earlier in the day Santa will be visiting our satellite shopping areas at Alexandria Drive (11.00am), Whalley Place (12.00 noon), Headroomgate Road (1.00pm) and St. Alban’s Road (2.00pm). Photos with Santa and free gifts will be available (as long as the elves have remembered to wrap the presents).

At 3.15pm Churches Together will hold a Crib Blessing at the amphitheatre in the Town Centre. The event organised by St. Thomas’ Church will include music, carols and unveiling of the nativity crib.

From 4.00pm entertainment kicks off on the stage (located in the main town square car park) with a Frozen Sing-along, 4.20pm Mayfield School children perform, 4.40pm Disney Sing along, 5.00pm the very special Across the Boards. At 5.20pm special guests and artists will join host Emma-Louise Jackson on stage for the countdown to the switch on at 5.30pm.

At 5.30pm The St. Anne’s on the Sea Town Council Mayor Karen Harrison and special guests will switch on the lights. Town Crier John Spencer-Barnes, Councillors and Santa.

The festivities are organised and run by the Community and Neighbourhood Group (CAN) of St. Anne’s on the Sea Town Council. Our lights and infrastructure are constantly updated and refreshed each year. We hope you enjoy the spectacle.

So please put this date in your diary, bring the family down to the town square / satellite shopping areas and join us for what is sure to be a heart-warming start to the Christmas Season.
