Councillors present festive display

On the 27th November 2020 Town Councillors Joanne Gardner, Gavin Harrison, Karen Harrison and Cheryl Little joined forces to create a festive display in the old JR Taylor’s building. Councillor Little’s daughter Gabrielle provided key assistance on the day.

At this time of year the Town Council would normally be primed for a live Switch On event in the town square. Unfortunately COVID restrictions have place limitations on attracting crowds.

A working group of Town Councillors and Officers was created with the aim to create as big a Switch On as possible and help support the Town Centre.

Over the next few weeks you will see the Town Council provide:

A virtual Switch On on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/watch/769078693198559/169532798171417/ will take place on the 28th November 2020. Throughout December we will continue to post Christmas messages from local business and further performances from local acts & community groups. All performers gave their time and talent for free. Christmas doesn’t stop on the 28th it’s just getting started.

Light up the Town Centre and adjoining streets with our Christmas Lights.

Music will be played in the square from the 3rd to the 24th December 2020. (No physical event will take place – this is all in a COVID friendly way).

The music will continue until 7.00pm as the Town Council joins Fylde Council and STEP in supporting local business with late night opening on the 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th December.
