The Town Council is sad to report that former Town Clerk Philip Jackson has passed away.
Mr Jackson served the Council as Town Clerk from 2008 to 2013 and played a vital role in establishing the policies and procedures of the Council in its formative years. The Blundell Road Allotments site stands as a legacy to Philip’s professionalism and determination. Philip will be greatly missed.
On behalf of the Council Town Mayor Cllr Karen Harrison stated, ‘I’m sure all Councillors join with me in sending sincere condolences to Philip’s family.’
Councillor Carol Lanyon stated, ‘Philip had the vision to see how the allotment project could become a great community project, led by The Town Council. He suggested originally, for us to buy the neglected land from Fylde Council. He also helped us barrow in a lorry load of compost, when the alleyway was too small for the lorry and skip to get down.’
